About the Artists:
A.E. Kieren is a freelance illustrator and performer. He specializes in on-location illustration, for "sketch journalism" as well as for events and entertainment. Clients include Google, Moleskine, Disney/ABC, AMC+Target, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, Salvatore Ferragamo, Refinery Hotel, Sleep No More/McKittrick Hotel, The Dramatist, and Daily Front Row. He holds a BFA in Illustration from College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI and an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay from School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Shannon Jones, 32, is a queer Black multimedia visual artist who specializes in pen and watercolor portraiture. Being surrounded by artists in her family and having shuffled between Baltimore and New York City, Shannon has been in community with artists as long as she can remember, admiring the works of her queer women of color peers and dabbling in casual sketching along the way. During the onset of the pandemic, however, she began devoting intentional time to capturing the vulnerability of the human
face. After self-imposed crash courses through a variety of media, including charcoal, pastel, oil painting, and pencil, Shannon shifted her focus to crafting strong pen lines and watercolor, as she feels that honing this combination has the ability to make our truest souls emit through even the most poised faces
Charle Chaosson a New Orleans native nurtured by a creative family, Charles Chaisson’s artistic journey began at a young age. Stints at institutions like NOCCA, the Ringling College of Art & Design, and the School of Visual arts have helped him to hone his skills over the years. The experiences garnered at these institutions and the connections made there have led to a fulfilling career in freelance illustration. Charles also had the opportunity to work as an adjunct professor at the Rhode Island School of Design before returning to Louisiana in 2021. He's currently delving into the world of abstract art, its openness serving as a refreshing way to explore layered psycho-somatic narratives. Additionally, by witnessing Louisiana’s coastal vulnerability throughout the years, he’s finding his passion by participating in and fostering collaborative spaces aimed at attaining a sustainable and regenerative future. Since moving back to the South, Charles has become a board member for Common Ground Relief, a New Orleans based non-profit focused on coastal restoration, disaster relief, and community aid, while also acting as the Residency Team Leader for NUNU Art’s & Culture Center based in Arnaudville, LA. He's also the Creative Director of a newly formed non-profit in Arnaudville, Louisiana called Levity, whose aim is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration with the goal of meeting human needs in ecologically harmonious ways and adapting to the challenges of a changing climate.
